How long until you say "Kara" and pretty much everyone knows who you mean?

Not very long, I would think. We can thank CNN (truly) as they skulk off into the partisan infotainment cognitive desert.

And, OK, I had to just riff on the hair.

OK, Jacob Collier on the left, Kara on the right. Jacob is the most stunningly brilliant musician/vocalist/composer/bandleader/music technologist & educator I have ever encountered. Kara Swisher has been a preeminent cut-to-rhe-chase tech journalist & clear thinker for a very long time. She is now rapidly approaching the time when she will simply, rightfully be known as “Kara.” They both truly “make the world a better place.”

Trust me...

I have long appreciated the work and insights of Dr. Scott Galloway. In particular, his collaboration with Kara Swisher on The PIVOT Podcast just totally rocks.

NOTE: I've been watching a lot of great, relevant stuff on YouTube lately, which cuts into my always-overflowing book & periodicals reading time. A tip that works for me:

On the YouTube program screen, locate and click the little "gear" icon. I now frequently reset my viewing velocity to 1.25x. The vocals retain the same timbre but the speed elevation saves a bit of time and is only minimally distracting here and there. You just have to focus your aural attention a tad more.

I also sometimes push the audio to 2x when mocking Donald Trump.

CBS is going all Sinclair / Fox Lite. CNN isn't far behind. MSNOW? ABC? Wouldn't surprise me. Print media? I've been a WaPo subscriber for decades. Not any more, in the wake of Bezos' gauche craven suckups to Trump. Still hanging with the NY Times for now, and my subscribed periodicals: The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Harper's, Wired, Science (AAAS), and Scientific American.

A new independent entrepreurial public affairs news market is emerging. Mostly podcast-ish, and that gawdawful chaotic Substack platform (ugh).

Watch / listen intently to the above Kara Swisher-Scott Galloway Pivot episode. Wickedly funny (incl NSFW) and deadly serious & analytically cogent. Potential #1 for our nascent TSFAIU demographic. Think abut it. (Pull it up in native YouTube, and read the voluminous comments that people have left. Lots of thoughtful, topically astute viewers. By no means a FanBoy/Girl love fest.)

Other potential contenders? Jacob Ward? Laurie Segall? Numerous others.

Pivot to Kara and Scott

PS: I've been remiss. I've now placed a permanent right hand column link to The Pivot. This stuff is just too good. Been a Kara Fanboy for years. This podcast featuring Kara and Scott is just fabulous. I've cited Scott Galloway before.

THE BUBBLE

Excess of private unregulated "credit"—recursively, circularly/repeatedly "loaned" between the Big AI players, most of whom are chronically running balance sheet red, staying afloat in part by one stock issuance round after another. Deluded by the prospect of endlessly growing end-user market demand. I sniff tangential aroma wafts of Enron subsidiaries' fake intracompany "sales" that were nothing more than ping-pong flipping phony "trades," carrying the repeated transactions as "revenue." In the current AI circumstance, it’s principally about inflating “market cap valuations.“

Yeah, I know, "This Time Is Different." I guess we will see.
