November 22nd, 1963

60 years ago I was a 17-yr old high school senior in Somerville, New Jersey, walking to the football field house several blocks from the school building after classes to suit up for a last practice just before our final game of the year vs nearby Bound Brook HS. Other kids randomly started shouting that the President had been shot in Dallas. We thought it was just a joke. We learned otherwise in horror when we arrived at the practice field.
